Ok I tried making a Barefoot Review but can't seem to type in the body from my phone! So let's just leave a review here ey?! I loved this book it was pretty predictable but very engaging and I really began to care about the characters!! I wanted Vicki to overcome and when she couldn't find Blaine at the beach I cried for her hoping he would turn up!! Ohgosh and when she thought to her sister about taking care of her kids the night she passed out on her way to the hospital I BALLED how sad to imagine never seeing your children grow up. I felt bad for Josh when Ted left him the vmail that he wasn't needed for babysitting anymore, felt sad that the goodbye was so blunt :( of course he was back in the picture later afterall! And Melanie poor girl I was sad for her marriage and really hated her husband... Especially when swooped back into her life like nothing, uugghh! I was Hoping shed end up with Josh but it was obvious this was just a summer story for him, though one that touched his life for sure. I also was sooooo glad Brenda ended up with Walsch an cried when he surprised her in Nantucket what a great moment ha!!! I

I really liked the book. I felt the same way about it being predictable but really liked the whole thing. I couldnt imagine being Vicki and finding out I had cancer and had such young kids. My heart just broke for her. When she was so sick I was sad for her and for her kids for having to see her like that. I wanted Melanie to end up with Josh not her loser husband. I really made me made that she just went back to him like nothing happened. I understand they were married for years but nothing can change the fact that he cheated on her and continued to until she told him she was pregnant. I thought it was cute that Josh was the babysitter and that they kids got so attached to him. It was really sweet at the end when she got the flowers and the card that said "I know she is beautiful!" ( I think that is what it said!) I have read another book since then :o) Overall I really liked the book and want to read some of her other books. I would give this book 5 stars because it kept me interested in it and I wanted to know what was going to happen next!

So, I really liked the book. I enjoyed the characters more and more as the story climaxed, but did feel like the ending was a bit abrupt. Like it all came to a head really qickly you know.I loved all the things that you both pointed out too, especially how much Josh grew to love the boys and in fact the whole family. I thought Melanie should have made Peter bag a little more, he was so confident and I hate that. I would have loved it if Josh and Peter had had a confrontation where Peter would have been humbled a bit.I was happy that Brenda and Walsh found happiness but kind of hoped that she would fix her career somehow which I guess isn't that realistic. I knew Vicki would beat the cancer and Rita, you were right about the thoughts she sent Brenda in the ambulence, that made me cry too. I only wish that Josh's story had been tied up in the end a little better. I hoped we would see that he went back to school and wrote a book or something about his experiences. There seems to be a lot left hanging between he and Melanie, but the author definately left us thinking so I guess that is good. All in all, I liked it alot. I would give it 4.5 stars, it was almost GREAT.~Sarah
